And there were shepherds

And there were shepherds in the same country abiding in the field,
keeping watch by night over their flock.
And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them,
and the glory of the Lord shone round about them,
and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Be not afraid (or: Fear ye not)
Behold, for I bring good tidings of great joy,
which shall be to all people.
For unto you this day a Saviour is born,
which is Christ the Lord, in the city of David.
